  33. 1) System Requirements:
  34.  
  35.   -WindowsNT or Windows95
  36.   -Microsoft MS-Plus!
  37.   -Hi-color Video card
  38.   -8-bit stereo Sound card

  42. 2) Installation:
  43.  
  44.   -Unzip "jimitheme.zip" to C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes\
  45.    (or your standard theme folder)
  46.   -Copy the file "electric!.scr" to your C:\Windows\System folder
  47.   -Go to the MS-Plus! Desktop Themes icon in your system's control panel.
  48.   -Choose the "Jimi Hendrix (high color)" Theme

  52. 3) Startup and Shutdown screens:
  53.  
  54.   -If you have never copied the following files to a secure folder,
  55.    DO IT NOW! These are the files for your startup and shutdown screens:

  57.    C:\Logo.sys
  58.    C:\Windows\Logow.sys
  59.    C:\Windows\Logos.sys
  60.  
  61.   -If you can't find them it's because they are hidden.
  62.    Choose "Options" somewhere in your Windows Explorer and set up your
  63.    system to view all file types.
  64.   -Now you should be able to find the above mentioned files.
  65.   -Once you've copied them you just replace all three files by the ones
  66.    that came with the zip file. Do this:

  68.    Copy the Jimi "Logo.sys" to C:
  69.    Copy the Jimi "Logow.sys" to C:\Windows
  70.    Copy the Jimi "Logos.sys" to C:\Windows

  86. 2 Installation
  87. --------------
  88. Just copy the file "electric.scr" to your \windows\system (95)
  89. or \windows\system32 (NT) directory and choose "electric" from
  90. the control panel.

  92. 3 Configuration
  93. ---------------
  94. Electric requires Windows 95 or Windows NT, version 3.51 or more. 
  95.  
  96. Electric is a computing intensive screen saver.
  97. Although the first version was developped for a 486/66 machine with a 1024*768 display,
  98. the performance will be better with a Pentium and a 640*480 video configuration. 
  99.  
  100. The animation of the images will only run if your video configuration is set to 256 colors.
  101. With True Color or 16 bit configuration Electric will only display static images.
  102. With a 16 colors configuration, the result will be just terrible.

  104. Does it mean that you have to drop True Color and high resolution
  105. to change your video setting down to 640*480 pixels with 256 colorsá?
  106. The answer is definitely no. Since version 1.2, Electricá! is able
  107. to change automatically the video resolution at startup,
  108. by using Microsoft's DirectX.
  109. You can keep your usual configurationá; all you have to do is to
  110. install Microsoft's DirectX and to check the "Allow DirectX
  111. display mode change" box in Electric!'s settings.
